Assessment and Treatment:

Physiotherapists at Physio Mechanics Ltd. are fully qualified and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, The Information Commissioners Office and the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG). See our Registrations page to check these.

Physio Mechanics Ltd. is committed to providing all assessment and treatment in a high quality, professional manner. However, the success of any physiotherapy is dependent on the partnership between physiotherapist and patient. Any decisions made by a physiotherapist can only be based on the information provided to them though care is taken to ask all questions required for safe and effective treatment. In the event of withheld information, there is a chance that your diagnosis might not be fully accurate and subsequent treatment may not be the most efficient.

We request you inform us of any change in your health, medical or injury details throughout your treatment with Physio Mechanics Ltd. to ensure treatment, advice or exercises are safe and appropriate.

Any treatments suggested and used will be done so in your best interests and in discussion with you. This may be a combination of hands on modalities, exercises and/or advice. These treatments have different short and long-term effects - some you may feel the benefit of immediately and some will work towards a longer-term change that you may not feel initially. Some treatment types may also be better suited at different points in your injury recovery or movement learning. The effect of any physiotherapy interaction can only be as good as your participation - failure to take part with exercises or follow any advice may limit or delay your recovery. The number of your sessions and how they are spaced will also be discussed with you throughout your treatment, so you know what to expect at any point in your movement journey.

Physio Mechanics Ltd. cannot guarantee your recovery or that each treatment selected will be beneficial - this will always be an open discussion between patient and physiotherapist and will be guided by how your body learns and adapts. Unfortunately, how the human body behaves is not 100% dependable or predictable so results can be variable.

The long-term benefits of physiotherapy cannot be guaranteed as they are based on the many movement interactions you experience on a daily basis. The continuance of exercises/advice after any treatment episode with Physio Mechanics Ltd. is not under any supervision or responsibility of Physio Mechanics Ltd. or its physiotherapists after discharge from sessions.
Physio Mechanics Ltd. has a strong belief in injury prevention and for this reason recommends annual Movement MOT sessions. These are designed to help guide your movement behaviours but in isolation will not correct any injury or problem without ongoing practice by you.
