How We Achieve Lasting Success:

We take 5 key steps to successfully treat your injuries and keep you moving at your best.

5 Step System

: Assess, Understand & Plan

An Initial Assessment is the best place to start if you want to move better, sleep better and feel better. Our main aim is to find out what the problem is and importantly why it's there.

This will give us both complete clarity on where you're at in your movement journey. Alison will explain to you what we find. Then we'll work together to make the best plan to help you get back to what means most to you.

Alison will discuss the options we have for treatments, and how many sessions it could take. If there's time, we'll make a start at your treatment. If you're very sore, some of the planning might have to wait and we'll prioritise helping you feel a bit better first.

: Reduce Pain

Our top priority is to help ease your pain or discomfort. This might include some targeted hands on treatment or specific exercises that help things settle and feel better.

We first aim to help you become comfortable during your day to day tasks and movements. Things like bending to put on your socks or getting up and down from chairs. Sleeping comfortably, walking pain free and being able to sit for longer at your desk are often priorities in this stage.

: Target the True Cause

Once you're a bit more comfortable, we shift our focus towards the cause of your injury. Our treatments and exercises in this stage target any areas that aren't working well enough for you.

This could be where you've had previous injuries. And this may not be where you feel the pain or discomfort itself. Helping these areas start to work better also helps to reduce any pain or discomfort further.

- Hannah

"After a full assessment it was obvious my old sports injuries were part of the issue too"

"I don't believe I would have completed my goal this year of finishing a duathlon and three triathlons without you"

- Alan

: Build Movement Confidence

At this stage, you're comfortable and we know each muscle and area of your body can work for you. Day to day, you wouldn't be aware of your injury.

But we don't just want you comfortable. We want to keep things that way. Without you having to think about it.

Our movement plan in this stage helps your body learn to move with efficiency and ease. No worries. No second thoughts. We want you to be 100% confident.

: Movement MOT

Preventing a problem is always much better than trying to fix a problem once it appears. It's easier, takes less of your time and effort, and it costs less.

We do it with our cars - a regular service then an MOT each year to check. We do it with our teeth - brushing twice a day and visiting the dentist every six months for a check. But what about our movement health?

At Physio Mechanics, we recommend an annual Movement MOT.

"I still continue to go to address any issues that appear as life changes"

- Kara
