Not just treating injuries, treating
why you’re injured
Our approach to physiotherapy focuses on you.
Your injury. Your movement story. Your goals.
We aim to fully understand how you are moving.
And why it might not be 100%.
This means we can plan the right steps to get things better.
To get you back to the things that are most important to you.
Do you want to understand why you’re sore?
And get back to the things you love?
Whether you have pain lifting your kids, sleeping, gardening or running, you're in the right place!
Even if you just want to sit at your desk comfortably, sit through a film or play with your grandkids, don't let pain keep holding you back.
Get back to the things most important to you

We're Here to Help After You've Finished Treatment
You can get in touch if you have any questions or concerns even after you have completed treatment.
We want to help keep you on track.
Our Clinic
We are located in Lerwick's Gremista Industrial Estate.
Featuring level access, plenty of parking and spacious rooms, we are lucky to have excellent facilities.
Our treatment room is light, spacious and welcoming. The reception is where you'll meet Stacy our receptionist and Zola, our dog. A fence in reception keeps Zola contained so don't worry if you're not a fan of dogs.
Our waiting chairs are also located outside of the reception space - another decision we made in case you're not looking to spend too much time with the dog. She does love attention though so would welcome any visitors :)

Wednesday: 12.30pm - 8pm

Meet Alison
Hello and welcome to Physio Mechanics!
I'm Alison and I describe myself as a physiotherapist and movement geek. The human body and its movement fascinates me. How it can heal, learn and adapt is amazing.
When I look at movement, I see the forces involved at each joint and muscle. This shows me where the body is coping well and where it isn't doing so well.
The human body can protect an area that's had an injury - even ones that happened years and years ago. Or it might overuse another area because you move so often in a certain way.
Understanding these changes gives me the skills to help you feel and move better - now and into the future.
I love developing my knowledge and skills and I'm always pushing myself to be an even better physio. My most recent study is with physiotherapists from the world of professional sport. I'm also fascinated by the study of natural movement - looking at how we would have moved in the natural world.
